Down in Front

Waikanae, Kāpiti, NZ

Under Construction

Digital rendering of modern hillside house with metal and timber cladding

Perched on a sloping site with views over Kāpiti Island to the west, ‘Down in Front’ is organised to push living areas toward the view and sun.

Opportunity is made for outside living at the elevated upper level roof terrace and on lower deck and patio at ground level.

Immediate visual connection is made from the main entry through the central corridor to the living area and views beyond, which in turn brings transparency and light to the centre of the house.

Simple external material selections include metal cladding for the main mass, while timber board and batten cladding articulates the box like pop outs.
