Coastal Stacker

The brief for this design asked for a large house with plenty of amenity to fit on a small site between a steep hill side and the sea. To accommodate the brief the house is spread over 4 levels which offer opportunity to access external spaces like courtyards, roof top terraces, and a bridge!
Formally the house is shaped into distinctive wedges and boxes which serve to break down the mass and strike a building profile that doesn’t compete with the escarpment behind. These forms are reinforced with a pared back selection of materials made up of timber, Colorsteel, painted panels and steel barriers.
