Heritage

We are passionate about heritage and have had the opportunity to work on many heritage buildings and period properties. We work closely with local authority heritage officers, NZ Heritage (formerly the Historic Places Trust) as well as local experts. In line with good practice our approach is to allow the heritage fabric to be cohesive with but easily distinguishable from the new fabric. We acknowledge a building must adapt to new uses, so we look to find the right balance between adapting and preserving. Many of our house alterations include work to period villas and bungalows which involves a mix of reproduction of period detailing with modern detailing, depending on the individual circumstance.
