An infill house in Hatatai where the site has duel access to a primary road to the east and a secondary road to the west. The new dwelling faces the secondary road and opens up to the north and west. The form is articulated as a metal box with the lower portion of the north and west facades peeled away to leave a timber face. This in turn, creates an overhang which moderates the solar gain for the main living space and breaks down the scale of the building mass where outdoor living areas are located.
