Infill housing generally means any new house or housing within an established neighbourhood. It can be a second dwelling on a site or a subdivided site. In Wellington city you are permitted to build two dwellings per site and there is no minimum lot size, therefore, providing you meet the various requirements of the district plan you can subdivide the property. Well-designed infill housing that considers the amenity of surrounding properties and streetscape character is a very sustainable way of building.
